1. Acceptance and eligibility
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and provide accurate information appropriate to your use of the platform. If you use Shakwate for an entity, you represent that you are authorized to act for that entity. Some features may require account, contact, identity, or entity-control verification.
2. What Shakwate provides
Shakwate is a platform for documenting complaints, organizing follow-up, enabling public or private interactions, connecting users and participating entities, and presenting platform-derived activity and trust information. Shakwate is not a court, government authority, law firm, regulator, payment provider, or representative of either party. We do not guarantee that an entity will respond, that a complaint will be resolved, or that any particular result will occur.
Features may change, be introduced gradually, require verification, or be unavailable in certain locations. We may maintain, improve, suspend, or discontinue portions of the service when reasonably necessary.
3. Accounts and security
- Keep account information current and protect passwords, verification codes, and active sessions.
- Do not impersonate another person or entity, create misleading identities, evade restrictions, or transfer an account without approval.
- Notify us promptly if you believe an account or contact method has been compromised.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
4. Complaints, comments, and other content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Shakwate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, analyze, moderate, display, distribute, and otherwise process that content as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the platform and its public pages, subject to your privacy selections and our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy, relevance, and lawfulness of your content. Do not submit content that is knowingly false, defamatory, threatening, hateful, exploitative, fraudulent, unlawfully private, infringing, malicious, spam, or designed to manipulate platform metrics. Do not publish passwords, authentication codes, payment credentials, full identity numbers, or private information that the public does not need.
Public content may be visible worldwide, shared by others, and indexed by search engines. Editing or removing public content may be limited where an entity has responded, a case record must remain coherent, a safety investigation is active, or law requires retention. We may hide personal identifiers while preserving an anonymized case record.
5. Entity participation and verification
Verification indicates that specified checks were completed at a point in time; it is not an endorsement, guarantee, license, or legal certification by Shakwate. Entity representatives must use complaint information only for legitimate handling of the case, respect confidentiality and user consent, and avoid retaliation or manipulation. Subscription features do not purchase favorable ratings, remove valid complaints, or alter moderation standards.
6. SMS notification terms
When you voluntarily opt in, you agree to receive recurring automated transactional SMS messages from Shakwate at the mobile number you provide. Messages may include complaint status updates, entity responses, information requests, comments or interactions, verification updates, and account security notices.
Message frequency varies based on your account and complaint activity.
Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to SMS is optional and is not a condition of using the core platform or purchasing any goods or services.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to carrier availability and network conditions. You confirm that you are authorized to use the mobile number provided and will update it if it changes. After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation message. We will not send further campaign messages unless you provide valid consent again. See our Privacy Policy for mobile-data practices.
7. Moderation, restrictions, and termination
We may review content and account activity using automated and human processes. We may request clarification, limit distribution, label content, remove content, restrict interactions, suspend features, preserve evidence, or suspend or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or entities, comply with law, or preserve platform integrity. Where appropriate, users may receive notice and an opportunity to appeal through available platform tools.
8. Intellectual property
The Shakwate name, logo, interface, design, software, databases, and platform materials—excluding user-submitted content—are owned by or licensed to Shakwate and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, resell, frame, or commercially exploit the service except as permitted by law or written authorization.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shakwate disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and accuracy of user- or entity-submitted content. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shakwate will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, data, reputation, or opportunities; or conduct and content of users, entities, carriers, or third parties. Any direct liability will be limited to the greater of amounts you paid directly to Shakwate for the affected service during the preceding twelve months or USD 100, unless law requires otherwise.
10. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal, security, or operational changes. Material changes will be communicated reasonably, and continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any applicable feature-specific terms form the agreement between you and Shakwate.
